Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in North Carolina. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of the company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of accounts payable processes.

Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices in accordance with company policies and approval workflows.
  • Verify invoice accuracy.
  • Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts and projects.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and process weekly check runs.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end closing processes.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve processes and enhance overall efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in an accounts payable role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with general ledger accounts and basic accounting principles.

Salary Range: $23 - $28 per hour
